The discussion is being offered by Hershey Public Library free of charge.
Lee is the creator of “Conquer the Soil,” a platform that combines Black garden history and current events to raise awareness of horticulture.
Lanham is an author, poet and wildlife biologist.
According to a news release, “Lee will use the book as the basis to weave her personal experiences with major themes and ideas in Lanham’s text while discussing the history and significance of Black horticulture and conservation.”

The discussion is sponsored by Hershey Gardens, Friends of the Hershey Public Library and Manada Conservancy as part of Longwood Garden’s Community Read series.
