Scott Frost is no longer the head coach of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers after the program fired him last week. You would not know that, however, solely based on Twitter trends.
The Huskers are hosting their ancient rival, the Oklahoma Sooners, on Saturday. Things started well for new interim-head coach Mickey Joseph with the Huskers scoring on their opening drive to stake themselves to a 7-0 lead.
Unfortunately for Huskers fans, it’s been all Sooners ever since. Oklahoma rattled off an unanswered 35 points in Lincoln. Given those numbers, it’s easy to see why Huskers fans were chanting “We Want Urban [Meyer]!” before the game.
And though Frost is no longer the coach, that didn’t stop the CFB world from mentioning him throughout the game:

Maybe the Huskers will mount a comeback. But as of this writing, it doesn’t look good. Oklahoma leads, 49-7, late in the second quarter.
